Thank you for selecting me as your scholarship recipient and I accept it gratefully.  Your support of students pursuing a degree relating to dude ranching, like myself, is greatly appreciated.

As you know, I will be a sophomore this fall at Montana State University and plan to continue my major of Agricultural Relations.  Also, I will once again be working on one of your member ranches, the Lazy EL Guest Ranch, for the summer season and am very excited about both.

Once again, I extend my sincerest thanks for your willingness to provide financial assistance to college students.  With the support of generous donors like you, students such as myself can continue their education and one day pursue a career in the dude ranching field.  Thank you.

Sincerely,

Ceily Rae Highberger

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to receive this scholarship.  The money will be very helpful and applied to the cost of my tuition for the coming year.  I am thankful to be involved in the dude ranching business and hope to be for many years.

Thank you so much for the scholarship that I have been awarded.  It means a lot to my family and me.  This is my third year receiving this scholarship and it has helped pay for almost a year of schooling for me.  I can’t begin to thank The Dude Ranchers’ Association enough for their help in paying for my education.  To receive this scholarship is very rewarding and I am honored that I was selected to receive this award.  I have been involved in the dude ranching industry all my life and plan on continuing my involvement for many years.  To be recognized by people who work in the same industry means a great deal to me.  I am honored to receive this scholarship and I will use it to further my education in the dude ranching industry.  Again, thank you for this generous donation towards my education.

Sincerely,

Kameron Kelsey

I would like to thank both the Dude Ranchers’ Association and the Educational Trust Board for awarding me a scholarship for this upcoming school year.  It is such a special thing to offer to those students interested in the dude ranching industry, I have never heard of another group being as supportive of its youth as you all are.  I agree to comply with all the set requirements and guidelines that accompany this scholarship.  I hope to live up to the expectations of all members of the Association and appreciate the confidence that has been bestowed in me.  Sincerely,
Darcy Anthony

Dear Dude Ranchers’ Association Members-
Thank you very much for selecting me to receive the Dude Ranchers’ Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year.  I appreciate your support in helping me finish college and giving me the chance to follow my dreams.  Growing up on a Dude Ranch I have learned a lot about hard work and dedication.  I apply that to everything I do and I can’t wait to finish College with a fresh new look and ideas to influence the Guest Ranching and the land that we work on.  There is so much that I have learned that I am already utilizing here at the ranch with the plants and the land.  I am looking forward greatly to finishing in a year and a half and taking the next step in my life in discovering my passions and where that will lead me.  Wherever that might be, I know that I will always stay a part of my parents operation.  My life is filled with wonderful memories of growing up on a Guest Ranch and a part of my heart will always be attached to the ranch.  This fall will be the beginning of my senior year at Montana State University, majoring in Natural Resource Rangeland Management.  I will be sure to keep you updated on my progress.I will not be making it to Tucson because of school obligations but I hope that everything goes as wonderful as the past year’s annual meeting.
Thanks again,
Kelly Rich

Dear Educational Trust Board,
I am writing this to thank you for the scholarship that I received.  I am currently enrolled at Metro State College in Denver, Colorado.  I am pursuing a four year degree in Biology which I hope to use towards a job at the Division of Wildlife.  I am working for my folks at the Tarryall River Ranch for the summer and am looking forward to another great year as I prepare myself for the next school year.  This scholarship will help out a lot with the normal school expenses, and I want you to know that it will be put to good use.  Thank you again for your generosity and your support in my future plans.

Dear Dude Ranchers’ Association,

Thank you very much for the scholarship awarded to me for the 2009/2010 academic year.  I am currently attending Cornell’s School of Hotel Administration with the intent of returning to my family’s ranch in Tucson, Arizona.  When I do return, I feel that a hospitality degree will help my family’s ranch pursue success in the future, as well as allow me to help the future Dude Ranchers’ Association.  The scholarship is extremely helpful to my family in offsetting the cost of school and makes it possible for me to attend such an institution.  Thank you all, and I hope to see you all at the conventions again soon.

Sincerely,  Steven True

Dude Ranchers’ Association,

Thank you very much for choosing me for this scholarship.  I have dreamed of going into the guest ranching business and I am enjoying learning about the many new aspects of ranching in college.  I am attending MSU-Bozeman and studying Natural Resource Rangeland Management.  It’s such a great field and is helping me at the ranch already.

I hope that within my next 2 years in college I am able to accomplish everything that I hoped for. Growing up on a Dude Ranch I have learned much about the business.  I know that it takes hard work and dedication.  I can’t wait to start in to the business with a fresh new look and ideas from my degree. Thank you again and I hope to see you all at the banquet.

Dude Ranchers’ Association Member’s,

I would like to thank everybody for the scholarship I was given by the Dude Rancher’s Association.  It is a special thing that the DRA does to give these scholarships to kids wanting to further their education, and speaking for myself, I know it will be a big help.  I look forward to the coming school year knowing that thanks to all of you I can focus on my studies and not have to worry about tuition.  Since becoming involved in the dude ranching industry I have had a lot of good things happen in my life, from the people I’ve met to those I get to work with every day.  This scholarship is just another example of how supportive this industry is of its youth and why it is such a wonderful area to be involved in.

Sincerely,

Darcy Anthony

Dear Colleen and the Educational Trust Board,

I find that once again, I have the privilege of being able to offer my deepest thanks for awarding me a scholarship.  Your generosity has been a very large factor in enabling me to achieve my education. Lord willing, I will finish my BSBA by this summer.  However, I know that while I may be nearing the end of my formal education, I have only just begun to learn.  It is my desire to continue on at our ranch, and I feel certain that the knowledge I have gained will be useful, and act as a foundation on which the things I have yet to discover can be built. I am very grateful for the opportunities that I’ve had because of the money you have given me.  It has allowed me to pursue come of the other crafts that are such an integral part of the western heritage.  These will not only be an asset to our own ranch, but there is a great deal of pleasure to be taken in continuing a tradition that might otherwise be lost.

Again, thank you for your help and generosity,

Most Sincerely,

Spencer George

Dear Colleen,

Thank you and the Educational Trust Board members for granting me a scholarship for the coming school year.  The funds to help me with college costs have been and will be very much appreciated.  I am pleased to accept the scholarship and will comply with the requirements.  Two weeks ago, I started work as a wrangler at the Latigo Ranch and plan to continue with this job until the season ends in the fall. Also, I enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a DRA Wrangler Certification program held at Bar Lazy J last week.  I will start back with my college work right after that and hope to attend the winter DRA convention Arizona in January.  I’ve enclosed my most recent record of college work.  You will find that I finished the required number of credits for the 2007-2008 scholarship.  The program that I am pursuing requires 120 semester credit hours, and I have now completed testing for 63 credit hours.  If I were enrolled in a conventional program, I would be a junior for the 2008-2009 academic year. Thank you for your support of my education as I pursue the career goal of operation our guest ranch someday.

Sincerely,

Spencer George
